Bankrupting Casinos Before They Bankrupt Us - Casino Free Takes Action

Casino Free Philadelphia takes action this Tuesday at Sugar House as it launches the "In The Red" campaign to get casino investors to drop plans for Philadelphia slots.

The campaign is taking its first action tomorrow in an attempt to stop work at the Sugar House site in Fishtown, Philadelphia. Ivan Boothe of Casino Free Philadelphia said, "casinos cost the city more in jobs and revenue." And "visions for sustainable waterfront development should be based on other developments… construction workers in Philadelphia shouldn't have to build a casino when we need other things like schools and parks."

The campaign is targeting Neil G. Bluhm of SugarHouse and Ronald Rubin of Foxwoods and the banking institutions they seek financing from. On the morning of Wednesday September 16th in the height of rush hour Casino Free members announced their campaign in front of PNC Bank. PNC is suspected to have plans to invest in SugarHouse. Casino Free has called on PNC to "Lead the Way" and drop these plans.

Watch above for Jethro Heiko from CFP discussing the risky investment in Casinos and why PNC and any other institution should not invest in Philadelphia Casinos.

In other news, as the months long debate about the state budget continues table games have been added to the mix.
