This whole casino thing is
This whole casino thing is really really bad! The communities that they are threatening to plop the casinos in have absolutely NO SAY in the decision making process. The state government has pretty much said that they have to accept that this is going to happen. Meanwhile the city is telling folks that the most that they can contribute to the process is to help it along by trying to help the planners deal with where to find parking and to try to get as much money from the casinos to fund things like schools and youth centers (how convenient that the last however many decades of neglect by the city in this area have now come back to help facilitate the coming of casinos... we shouldnt have to rely on Donald Trump to fund our schools). I think that the most tragic thing abouth this whole situation is the way in which the process has tried to pit each community against each other by saying that casinos are coming and the only thing that we want your input on is where we are going to put them. Thankfully it hasnt yet turned totally divisive. These casinos dont belong in ANYONE'S BACKYARD and the truth about this prcess needs to be exposed.
