I think this is a testament to the fact that NTI and the current trend of Philly's urban revitalization are simultaneously about the 'production of space' (the imagery of a hip, cool enticing urban environment with exciting cultural and consumption opportunitites) and the 'destruction of place' (public places, places for young people to spend time, destruction of thousands of units of public housing).
