We Need You: A Call for Volunteers from Casino Free Philly

After last week's phony hearings by our state and local
governments, we are now moving full steam ahead to Beat the House. In
only 26 days and counting Philadelphia will come together to Beat the
House by entering a local casino to demonstrate the predatory nature of
the gambling industry through smart, strategic actions. And we need you
to make it a huge success. Sign up to volunteer now!



Volunteers like you have been the driving force behind Casino-Free's success over the last three years.



You were helping to collect 27,000 signatures during the 21 coldest
days of February 2007. You were there on May 15th, 2007 when we gave
Philadelphians the right to vote on a 1500 foot buffer zone between
casinos and homes, schools, places of worship and parks that the
supreme court stripped off the ballot after the casinos sued the city.
You were there when we staged a practice site occupation in the dead of
winter in the face of police forces dispatched by Mayor Street. You
were there in the Spring of 2008 when we held a debate-in at Governor
Rendell's office after months of him refusing to address the hidden
costs of forcing casinos into our city.



And you will be there in 26 days - on June 6th - when Philadelphia, a

businesses and neighbors, updating our database, helping to design
specific actions for Beat the House, writing press releases, planning
house parties, planning a bowling fundraiser, recruiting more
volunteers, staffing tables at festivals across the city, and much
